About Taya
Taya Onyschtschuk is a lawyer with Drury. Her background combines legal practice experience with prior work inside the Alberta court and land-title systems, giving her a practical understanding of both litigation procedure and the documentary issues that can drive property-related disputes.
Before joining Drury, Taya worked as a student-at-law in a practice handling family, estate and real-estate matters. Her work included preparing court applications, divorce materials, estate documents, grant-of-administration applications and real-estate closing documents, as well as managing files and client-facing workflows.
Taya previously worked as a Land Titles Analyst and Acting Team Lead with Alberta Land Titles, where she reviewed registrations affecting real property under Alberta legislation. She also served as a Judicial Clerk at the Alberta Court of Justice’s Calgary Hearing Office, coordinating bail hearings and acting as a point of contact among the public, police agencies and justices of the peace.
Her legal education included a Law & Technology specialization at the University of Dayton School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude in the top ten percent of her class and served as a Publishing Editor of the University of Dayton Law Review. Her broader experience also includes a federal judicial externship in Ohio and legal-policy research with the Canada Border Services Agency.
